Building bell 206 using the align 800 mechanics setting the mechanics on the wood frame, the tail rotor is about 1/2 - 5/8 " to high. My first thought is to drop the rear cross member 1/2 - 5/8 " to get the tail boom on center with the opening for the tail boom drive shaft to exit the fuselage. Thoughts from anyone who might have experienced this.

Hi Ed. Wish I could say I have built one that size, but. The thing I would be mindful of in removing spacing from the rear of the mechanics is the rake you end up with on the main shafts. Some have forward rake to hover tail low, some are straight. Maybe remove half of what you are thinking and see if it alleviates the interference.
Thanks for the reply, the wood frame once put in the fuse (not glued in) tips toward the front about 10 degrees. It actually rocks forward and backward sitting on the bench. The fuselage just sitting on the bench tips back about that with out landing gear attached. The landing gear also has some pitch forward. The mechanics frame has no pitch what so ever. Thanks
