The Edgewood Flyers held it “Rescheduled” Scale Fun Fly this past weekend 14-16 JULY. We had good weather for the pilots that attended on Friday. Saturday weather was hot with a nice breeze however Sunday was a wash due to liquid sunshine.
16 pilots registered for the event with roughly 35-40 helis of all sizes from a Heli Max micro Black Hawk to a 1/4 scale Vario 429. We had pizza on Friday and cooked burgers and dogs with all the trimmings on Saturday.
This was the third time EWF has hosed a scale event in the past 4 years. It has grown each year. EWF has one of the best flying sites on Long Island. This is a great venue for such an event.
Here are a few photos of the heli from this weekend plus “Gamera” dropped in for a candid shot with a Huey at my place this morning.
Thanks for dropping by and hope to see some at future Scale events.

Great event Butch and great photos!
Had a great time flying with real RC helicopter pilots. Pure Scale and no 3D.
Great pictures. I know Saturday was hot! At least in CT it was.
Love the recap!
Nice time, nice turnout 👍🏼
Thanks for sharing, Butch! Are you attending the Jamboree?
Michael,
Currently I do not plan on attending the NATs this year. There is a very very slight chance for IRCHA this year that depends on when I return to work. I do plan on attending the Southern Scale Challenge in September.
