I need some help with my lighting system on the Vario Baby Lama. The lighting package is the one provided by Vario (Baby Lama Lights - Lighting set). None of the lights work and may in fact be burned out. I have provided a pic of a filament which to me looks like the light is fried. (all of the light filaments look the same).
I didn't receive the extension but I figure I can extend the leads to the required length without any problem.

Hello, your LED is visually ok
how are they powered ?
Thank goodness for that. At $20 CDN each I didn't want to have to replace them. I am doing a test using my Spektrum ix14 bound to a AR620 with power coming from a 2S pack and run off the gear channel set to switch "C". I get the lights on the BrainCube controller flashing correctly 1=5x, 2=1x, 3=2x in off, mid and high, but the LED's don't flash, just the controller led. As you can tell, I have never had to set up lights before. 😊 Hmmm
Thanks for the reply.
To check a standard led individually, I connect it directly to a CR2032 3 Volts button battery, making sure polarity is correct; the longer leg of the led is the plus (+). If the leg is already soldered to a lead, then the red one is likely to be the plus.
A led can be standard in terms of voltage but ultra-bright, or more power/watts. As result, this test might not work if the led is powerful in watts, like we have often with aircrafts. Then we need to know more about, in order to apply enough current for the test (100% not required as we just want to see if producing some light).
Disclaimer: wrong polarity or higher voltage might destroy the led, so at your own risk, I have not checked in details your specs. Ideally, first test with another similar led to practice.
Worked perfectly with all 5 led's. Next is to figure out why they are not getting power from the BrainCube.
I now have the BrainCube set up so that it just comes on with a switch inside the cockpit, all set up independent of the receiver (no tx switch required). I connected a "Y" lead to the Red and Black wire of the BrainCube and from one port to a switched battery with the other "Y" port going to the orange, red and brown wire of the BrainCube. This is exactly the same as running switched power from the RX.
