Vario Baby R 22
Unboxing
I recently received Vario's latest gem, an electric 600 size R 22. I first saw it a little over a year ago during my visit to the Vario headquarters in Grafendorf Germany. At the time it was still in preproduction so only the fuselage was on site. I was impressed by the quality of the fuse and expected the same quality once I received it and Vario didn't disappoint. Vario applied the decals prior to shipping as I requested. I wanted to get it built quickly and in the air and decided to choose a paint scheme to finish later this year. The kit comes with several scale parts included except for the dummy Lycoming engine, which is very nice.
The build
I used the recommended servos and kontronik motor and ESC and the build was straight forward and fairly quick.
The build
Its moving along nicely
Ready for test flight
I added a light system and used the battery box screws which hold the box in place as +/- contact points for the front lights. I wanted to avoid plugging in the light each time. Turned out great.
The flight
The first flight was very nice . After a little tweaking of the Bavarian Demon, It is spot on and very relaxing to fly. It makes a great daily flyer that you can put in the car and fly over 10 mins on a 5000 MAH pack
