Chapter 2 of 3
Landing gear (retracts)
Nov 12, 2024
The retracts are in but do not work proper.
This retract mount is at an angle.
Mechanism ( trail end of link) doesn’t align tru.
I will have to (try to) shim.
👏👏 working great
Mechanics assembly is square and links are tru
3/16” Shim to get it level
Wheel hits wood halfway collapsed
Will have to shave it
Also going to use stainless button head screws instead of set screws
I will make them as close to flush as possible
There is a video here tap on the blank screen below
The front retract linkage needed bushings
Now working great

My experience with this kit would suggest that you route the kero tube that goes to the gearbox through a hole in the canopy and away from the turbine. My tube was mounted inside and developed a micro hole which sprayed kero onto the hot turbine. This, in turn, caused the thing to burst in flames as soon as I landed and no more air was flowing over the turbine.
Good to know
Well started to get the ribs ready and put them in but they should’ve been done first now the whole bottom wood section that the rods go through is off by at least a quarter inch at each end, which makes the helicopter fly crooked. I don’t think I can undo it.
I added pictures to this, but they are not there and there is no edit button. I’m not very good with computers.
