Colorado weather has been unseasonably warm relatively speaking thus I’m not giving up flying yet. However the Lama needed its inspection. As suspected it needed a few things adjusted and tightened. It has over 100 flights on it. Actually, I inspect it after each flight, but this one was more detailed. In road racing, we call it nut and bolt inspection.
I would be curious if anyone has disassembled this Starwood tail rotor gear box. This one is solid, smooth and no seeping of grease. My preventive maintenance mind tells me to disassemble it and inspect.
Anyway, I tend to inspect all the helis all the time in the shop.
