Build Story
800 Airwolf overhaul
Chapter 1 of 5
Introduction and 120 flight phase inspection.
Jan 27, 2023
Hello, my name is Chris Pry and I'm new to this forum. I was asked to post my progress to this forum from a freind for others who might have this aircraft to see my progress.
April 5th 2019 I began the build! She took her first flight August 2019. 126 flights later and it's time for another phase. The long phase. This will be 100% inspection and overhaul. Checking every bolt, bearing, control rod and complete frame inspection/repair. Going to renew the wolf to her former glory! Adding the sound card and speakers as well. Should be ready for spring flying. Let fun begin!

VERY nice post Chris !!
Thanks for sharing this, Chris! 🤘🏼
Convenience matters!
In general, what is the most difficult thing about having an "800-size" "Airwolf"?? I'm very, very badly wanting to get one (and even get the same size in a "Redwolf" paint livery (as seen in the Airwolf episode, "Airwolf II") I'd also like to know if Vario would also build a JetRanger like the one that Ernest Borgnine's character, Dominic Santini, had on the show? (This would, of course, be my very first foray into flying this size of RC helicopter as well)
The Roban models are decent as an on-ramp to even larger models. They don’t cost a fortune and they generally look good. Vario has a full selection of Bell models but they don’t have ARF’s like Roban other than a Robinson and a KA-32
That’s a really nice looking air wolf .
