If it wasn't for a very generous fellow flyer, I would still be beating up on my PROTOS 700. I now am flying 2 nitro and 1 electric scale heli and saving for a BIG build of my own.
And that is the great thing about guys in the hobby. It's all about elevating everyone else so we can all share the excitement and enduring interest. I never tire of seeing models and other pilots flying them. I'm always learning and working on problems. That's what keeps it fun and interesting.
I have just bought Jon Ellis's 1/6th Bell47G2...I love that helicopter and have always wanted one...Now I just need to take time and care to get back to flying helis and make sure I can control things before I take the plunge and fly it. THANK YOU Jon!!
Congratulations! Awesome helicopter.
David, you have purchased a gem there.
My first attempts to fly in 1980 , Graupner Bell 212 ( before this a 47G)
You are a grizzled veteran!!
I rememebr seeing my first helicopter in Germany. Stationed in Herford, living in Enger. The local village had a model shop and my friend and I got to be friends with the owner. He showed his Bell 212 off at the local model field..it was amazing and I was hooked :)
I’ve been doing scale helis for a fairly short period compared to some of you guys, but I’ve been at it since 2014. All electric so far, and mostly in the sub 800 size.
That’s what I would consider a long time! Regardless, your engineering prowess makes up for any time deficiencies!
