How to build a Helicopter Refueling System
Chapter 8 of 10
Liquid Level Sensor
Oct 23, 2022
After a long search I found a suitable level sensor.
The specifications were:
Contactless
no immersion
robust
Reliable
adjustable
easy to install
relatively cheap
The first field tests with the XKC-Y26-V Liquid Level Sensor look very promising.

I MUST have one of these!! Do you sell them? If not, can you list the components? I like the design too.
First of all, I want to present a construction manual and of course the parts list as well. I'm still looking into the possibility of offering a kit.
When you do, let me know so we can review and promote it!!
I Like.
I'm going to buy these parts, which is also a DIY set. It's great. Thanks for sharing.
Impressive work. I'm excited in following your progress.
is it possible to ad a preassure sensor for tankbags ?
That would certainly work too. The Arduino has even more inputs. Here you only have to choose whether it should be a digital or an analog pressure sensor.
I can't find the right pressure sensor for this application,do you have a hint ?
I'll research what's available on the market
Uwe, did you find any fitting pressure sensor?
Most interested!
Uwe, Thank you. In Ch 2 you noted “ The flow meter I use has a flow range of 0.05 -3.0 L/min and the repeatability of frequency response is +-0.5% (at the same operating condition)”. Can I assume this accuracy is representative of the total volume delivered over time?
I might consider building one using your data. If so, how can one reimburse you for your efforts? Are you considering selling them as a kit?
Thomas, the accuracy is described in the manufacturer's data sheet. I can also say that it is absolutely reliable. You can draw good conclusions from the amounts of fuel refueled after each flight.
I don't offer it as a kit. But you can send me a PM. I'm sure we can find a good solution.
