Build Story
Enstrom F-28C-2 N9576
Chapter 1
Building the fuselage plug
May 26, 2022
After 17 parts and around 300 hrs of 3D printing, my latest RC project is taking shape. The parts here will be used to form a fuselage mold for a model of the family helicopter, an Enstrom F-28. Still a long way to go on this project, but it’s nice to have the first major milestone complete.

Dude, you are nuts! Amazing work!
Thanks! This one will be a long project. The body is the easy part. The difficult part will be the scale mechanics and head with internally routed pitch links.
A bit of history on the family helicopter: https://youtu.be/D1-phcCOZlI
VERY NICE Michael, I enjoyed that immensely. I don't know what year you took you 47 ride in the Smoky Mountains but I was there untill they ran the helicopters out of town. We certainly shared some of the same airspace.
That’s fantastic, it’s not me in the video, that’s my Dad. I’ll have to let him know! He also ended up flying a 47, but it was a night sign bird in Seattle.
