Roban 600 Superscale Airwolf Build/Review
First look
Recently acquired a new addition to the fleet more as an experiment then anything else. Figured I’d share a few thoughts on it as I start putting it together. For the past several years, Roban has had a “Superscale 600” line that hasn’t been carried by US sellers, and I was intrigued. They only offer 4 helis in the lineup now (MD500D/E, Airwolf, AS350), and I already had several MD500s, so I picked up the Airwolf. Would have preferred a standard 222, but unfortunately it’s not offered so far.
Ordered it from Flight-Model and it was here in just over a week and was very well packed. I was happy to find it is a different fuselage than Roban’s standard 600 Airwolf. Scale outline is much improved and other than the typical oversized rivets, it looks pretty good. It’s right about the same size as the Funkey 600 222, and includes a full detailed interior, and all of the features that their larger 700/800s have. It also has a smaller version of the Roban mechanics and head. For those of use who like a smaller heli that runs on a single 6S, it’s a pretty nice option. Will update as I go through the build.
