1/6 Animatronic MD500E Pilot doing cargo hoist work
Adding 2 more motion sequences
There are now 3 motion sequences: 1) Adjust overhead switches, 2) Hoist bucket work behavior and 3) Tweaking knobs and switches on the instrument panel. The big challenge was to have his left hand reliably grab the collective stick after every sequence. As you can see, it works out nicely. Next is to provide user control to activate the sequences using the TX's 3-position switch.
A regret is the failed attempt to route his shoulder safety belt through the back channel using a rubber band retract system. Unfortunately the tension force is too great for the servos to overcome reliably, constantly burning up servos.
Some may point out pilot-in-command should be seated on the left in an MD500. I'm unable to implement that level of realism due to my mechanical constraints- one hand on cyclic and the other free to poke at switches. Left seater will require his left hand to traverse diagonally to touch the IP.
