RVE's introduction to scale
Vario's quality at Roban price, it's 1/4.5 scale and comes painted. It flies great and the mechanics are first rate with steel torque tube.

Greetings from Rotor Live
Some fun flying with the 500 size CH-54A and MH-53J last week.
Bell 47 sport scale complete and tested! Vario mechanics KDE power, 12S. Powerful and smooth.
It finally got cool around here so all the chickens are in the coop waiting for inspection and updates!!
Let’s see what your coop looks like! Post a new thread with your birds!
Got a few more flights in on the 500 size MH-53, and it’s good to have it behaving nicely. Finally got the cyclic gains high enough that it doesn’t feel as squirrely in ground effect any more. I think I can finally (mostly) call this project complete.
She disappears easily
After a few months of tuning and troubleshooting, I finally got the 500 size MH-53M Pave Low up in the air today. Still have some issues to sort out (uncooperative retracts), but it's now flying smoothly. Thank Paul Lange for the excellent in flight photos!
Hello guy's, I'm Norbert and proud to present my model at HeliStorm. It's an cooperation from Norbert Schürz and Egon Hubmayer from Austria/Europe and built from scratch! I's been realized very different to any oder RC-helicopter. Detaillied description you can find in pictures section below. Currently two of them are built, but we would build further three on demand.
If you like it give me a...

Another project airworthy! Got the 500 size MH-53M Pave Low up in the air today for a few test flights. Cyclic gains still need some tuning, and the ramp servo needs replacement, but it’s close to complete. Has the most features I’ve tried to pack into a 500 size model before, including retracts, nose gear steering, working ramp, 3 retractable landing lights, nav lights, a searchlight, and...

We are ready for HSM25. The Kamov KA-50/52 needed some additional blade tracking adjustments, and it's performing well. I've replaced the front cabin with the 'Black Shark' version 50, and it looks combat-ready. I can easily switch to the 'Alligator' version 52. Matthias Strupf's Heliclassics product is exceptional. Do you like the Black Shark or the Alligator better?
At Heli-Divonne Symposium, May 2025, France.
Also flown at 50 years Vario event in Germany, to demonstrate fuselage quality: 100% no paint, only stickers and vinyl. See also Vario Wiki for build tips.
Some awesome slo-mo footage of my 500 size UH-1C Huey Gunship at the Golden Triangle RC Club’s Heli Fly-In yesterday with some fitting music.. Thanks Raymond Cervantes for the fantastic video!
Some moonlit flying on the 500 size UH-34 this evening
After a lot of building and planning, I finally was able to take photos of the 500 size Sikorsky HO3S-1 performing a rescue mission of a pilot from a ditched F9F Panther today. This recreates a scene in the the beginning of the movie "The Bridges at Toko-Ri". To get everything in place for the shots, I converted a beat up RC Lander F9F Panther to a boat so that it could be steered into position...

This recreates a scene in the the beginning of the movie "The Bridges at Toko-Ri". To get everything in place for the shots, I converted a beat up RC Lander F9F Panther to a boat so that it could be steered into position on the lake (over 6 lbs of ballast was required to make it float at a reasonable displacement). Pilot and crew chief figures were 3D printed.
Alexandra N.Z. Scale Heli Meet...videos to come...
Had a great time flying today at B.E.S.T. (Best Electrics in South Texas) at the Tri County Barnstormers Field in New Waverly, TX. Got a few photos of the 500 size Skycrane in the air as well as the HO3S-1 (H-5). The Skycrane is flying well, and the next steps will be working on the cargo release system, and painting/detailing. Possibly some revision of the tail rotor pitch linkage as well.
Pics from a recent visit to the Technik museum in Speyer Germany . Enjoy!

Had a great time flying the 500 size Huey, UH-34, and HO3S (H-5), at Warbirds Over the Johnson Space Center 2 weeks ago. Was a fantastic opportunity to fly some helis at an awesome historic location! Winds were very high (18 gusting 35 mph) but it didn’t stop me from getting in a few flights. Unfortunately, a gust did catch the H-34 during spool down and scraped the blade tips. Blades have...

Blades have already been replaced and the aircraft returned to flight.
A few shots of my 500 size UH-34D in the air last week.

Just finished a Funkey AS350 (600 size) with a Scaleflying Flasher 600 (T-REX clone) inside. Let me know if you are interested in a "how it was done" story.
First post on this forum. Haven’t flown Heli’s for over 10yrs. Decided to get into the scale game. Picked up a Roban 800 MD500D Magnum PI edition.
I am really enjoying my build and getting acquainted with heli setups again. I have been flying on the sim 2-3 times a week and it’s like riding a bike. It all comes back in a few sessions.

So far I am almost complete with the scale build side of things. Just need to mount the load line hook and a few other minor details.
At the moment…. I have built a test airframe and I am setting up the Demon 3x.
I have been taking my time with this one as I am kind of ocd. Lol Did full carpet and headliner in the interior. Had a co worker work some magic on GI Jane. Who we now call GI Dane lol. I can’t say enough about Tyler Gray Models scale detailed parts for the MD. Really sets it off and functionality at getting to electronics.
Here are some build pics.
My Vario MD 500 1:5 has finished. The mechanics are from PSG in Germany, the Tail from Ludwig Benda, the blades are M-blades. Motor Pyro 800, FBL Bavarian Axon. The performance is great and I have enough power. The light unit is from Unilight.
Batteries 12S5000 flightime 8 minutes
Beautiful day to fly in Colorado!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2024.
