“Objets de Vertu”

Nov 14, 2023

Good evening folks,

Haven posted in a bit. Nothing of real substance over the past weeks or so or just maybe some re-runs if you will. Began some lay up on SN #003 tail pylon using the Lantor Soric XF. This stuff is pretty cool. I used the 2 mm thickness on this fuse opposed to the foam core an am very happy with the results. The foam is ridged where the Soric will form around curves. The ramp and entry door will the Soric for strength. Thus far I used it in a flat area but plan to use it in curved areas of the fuse. I did cross a milestone. Have all the frames sized and cut to fit just waiting on a supply of 2mm birch ply to begin cutting. Going to put my Stepcraft to work. I did use it to draw al the ribs for sizing.

Did the lay up and bagging of the lower ramp section tonight. This vacuum bagging has been working out real nice. Part consistency is far better plus the internal finish is great with using the peel
Ply for bonding.

Here are some pics.

Thanks for dropping by,

UIH,

B
