Chapter 10 of 40

“lespecial”

Nov 11, 2024

I could not hold off any longer. The weather up here in Zoo York has not favored flying lately. Cold, windy on days I am able to fly. My limit is about 45° sunny and a light breeze if any. The past few weekends have been 12-15 gust to 20 so that ain't happening.

Saturday I took the leap. I ripped my 92 apart. Good think it does go together pretty easily so if we get a nice weekend for flying in an evening it can be ready to go.

I worked on the cockpit floor mounting the blocks that hold the inserts and the stabilizer support. The floor took some work to get the size just right so it could be installed as one piece. It uses wood blocks with 4-40 threaded inserts installed for easy removal.

The stab will be held on with 3 magnets and 2 or 3 pins and the support strut. This has to be removable for transport because it is pretty big.

I have attached a few pictures of the work done this weekend and the 3 sections of the drive trail. It all slides in place very easy and takes moments to remove each section.

Thanks for dropping by,

UIH,

Butch.
