Chapter 26 of 40

The beat goes on.

Nov 13, 2025

UIH,

Been out of the loop again for a few days but was back at it over the weekend. It was time to work on the center console and pedestal and move the panel from mock up to final design.

I made a power harness for the Arduino boards that control the 5 displays. I made a mount with spacers to hold the controllers that came out pretty nice. This mount will attach to the forward side of the center console pedestal. Once the panel with displays are mounted it will be attached to the pedestal as well. Then I can secure the wiring harness and clean up wire lengths for a cleaner install.

This will be one complete assembly and remove as one unit. I will have to remove one of the flight battery support walls to install or remove the assembly however the wall is installed with 4 screws and threaded inserts and easily removed. Not sure if I will use magnets and pins or screws to hold the assembly in place and will figure that out as I move along.

I cut another set of glazing out. They are much better now with the reworked molds. I have yet to commit drilling holes to attach the windows. There will be many screws attaching the glazing. If I have to replace a window(s) I do not wish to transfer drill the replacement window to match the holes in the window frames the first time out. Being 0-80 screws there is little to no room for error with the attachment hardware.

Weather here in Zoo York this weekend is not looking good at all plus the lifting restrictions I have at the moment does not allow me to move a 35 lb model around. I threw in a detail photo of the Zuse fastener on the center console control heads and close out panels.

A few photos of the recent progress.

Thanks for dropping by.
