“Slab-o-Stab”

Dec 4, 2024

UIH,

Worked the big ass stab install over the past few days. This thing is big, really big. This thing has to be removable for transport or it will get bumped or busted off in one way or another.

It is held in place with 3 magnets and a couple of brass guide pins. The strut will retain it from falling off during flight. I use the same process for the wings on my S-67 which works very well. The support structure is about 1.5 inches from the mating area to the tail. This keeps the mass close to the fuse. It is always a concern to have a “mass” of weight too far away and we know what that can cause.

Removal will be to remove the strut held in place by 2 each 2.5mm screws then slide the assembly off. May be able to just remove one of the screws but then there is a possibility to bust that off during transport as well.

So many things to think about.

Anyway, thanks for dropping by.

Some pics.
